Question: Hard Drives?
my question is, whats the difference between “Portable Hard Drives” and “External Hard Drives”. which is one is better?
thzx for your answer. ^_^

Portable are just that…more portable. They usually operate solely off a USB port (no power cable). Their drawback is that they usually have less space than a standard external drive.

Question: Thoughts on External Hard Drives? Western Digital MyBook Essential?
I have a Western Digital 1 TB external hard drive which I bought yesterday and I am wondering what the deal is? It seems like it’s just a backup device instead of a “zip-drive” like hard drive that I can actually manage files myself on and can access through my computer. This specific model doesn’t let me view any of my files it backs up but will put them back on my computer if I lose something. I want an external hard drive that allows me to view and use the files it stores just like a flash drive would but also would protect my files on something other than my computer. Any ideas or recommendations? Thanks

Answer by Pick me a winner
Delete the Western Digital software off the drive by doing a format. Then set it up whatever way that you want.

Question: Do external hard drives work with the Xbox 360?
I have a Xbox 360 and I want to get an external hard drive for it. I know that my “USB Flash Drive” works with it but I don’t know if a USB hard drive would also.

I have not used my flash drive for saving games yet. If possible, can you also tell me if you can store game data onto an “External Hard Drive” too?

Thanks!

Answer:

Answer by Milk84
Yes any USB device can be formatted to use up to 16GB as 360 content storage. You just shouldn’t (obviously) use an iPod, camera, phone, or anything else that has important system data on it.
