How to fix a Maxtor hard drive. This is a Maxtor hard drive. It spins normal, and seeking track 0 normal as well, except that the computer would not pick it up. we thought it was firmware problem. we test it on PC3k, it says PCB problem. then we swap it with a donor PCB, problem fixed, all data back. Maxtor PCB compatible criteria: model number, main IC number,Code must be same. for this hard drive: model number : 4D040H2 Code: DAH017 Main IC number: 040104900 Different Brand hard drive, different family, different model, the compatible criteria is much different. some of them you can file a compatible PCB directly, some of them we have to do firmware transfer, some of them we have to fix the PCB directly. any question email to dataprobc@gmail.com good luck for your data recovery !

Question: Deleted everything off of my external hard drive because of XBOX, help!?
So I connected my external hard drive (2 USB cables) to my XBOX 360, I wanted to watch a few films from my hard drive on my XBOX… Pressed a few buttons on the XBOX and everything was deleted off my hard drive… (Something like “start a new xbox drive” or something) Anyway I can get everything back on?

Question: What is a FAT32 hard drive? How does it differ from an internal hard drive or a thumb drive?
My Windows desktop recognizes my old 250Gb external hard drive as a FAT32, but my internal hard drive shows up as just drive “C”, and my 8Gb Cruzer flash drive shows up as “USB storage device”. Also, would a portable hard drive (I never owned one) be different from a FAT32 external hard drive?

FAT32 just describes the File System used, chances are your C is ntfs, and the usb storage is fat
