Question: Is there such a thing as backup up to a “online drive”?
I am just a dude with no clue but can someone tell is it possible to buy a external hard drive but one that can be connected to a network?

I seen one by netgear and it looked like a little cube that you hooked up to the router?

Please help. I will give you a mince pie. Thanks.

Question: What is the best way to make a backup image of my Vista hard drive on my laptop?
I use Bart PE and DriveImage XML on my Windows XP machine and it works flawlessly. But Bart PE doesn’t work on Windows Vista. There is a deal called Vista PE that is suppose to work with DriveImage XML, but it seems like not too many people have perfected the system for Vista PE. It seems like too many errors, or too much junk info on the web, plus I’m no good with using WAIK (Windows Automated Installation Kit).

1) I have an external hard drive (500gb)
2) I also have a copy of my hard drive using DriveImage XML on it
3) I just don’t have a way to boot in case of my main hard drive fails to be able to restore a “new drive” using the DriveImage XML backup.

So my question is this. What other ways are possible to make a complete image backup of my Vista operating system, with the ability to boot from a CD (or floppy etc…), and restore a “new hard drive” in case my current hard drive fails completely?

Looking for free alternatives. I know there has got to be some free alternatives.

Carbonite has a hidden backup cap of 200gb before your backup comes to a screeching halt. Backblaze is simple, affordable unlimited fast backup, and they deliver there promise. I was able to backup more data with Backblaze in 17 days than Carbonite could do in months. Also backblaze lets you pick which rare you want to upload at, sometimes if you want to do other things like upload a video to youtube, you may want backblaze to tone its rate down a bit, also it has good scheduling abilities like carobnite. Sorry I may seem to cut words off in the edit, I had a big fight with Pinnacle 14 chopping off frames in the render. It does not like files from the Canon 7d for final renders.
